Coupon Shopping in Kansas

Golly! I”m tired!!! Woke up this morning, and decided to get an early start on all the great deals that Walgreen’s and CVS had in today’s Sunday paper!! My adventure in Coupon Shopping in Kansas, got off to a great start!!  We get one paper delivered, and it had all the great coupon inserts as expected. Hubby even picked up a couple of extra papers so I could stock up on some of the coupons that I wanted!  My Day of Coupon Shopping in Kansas started at CVS in Olathe.  Everything was going really well, until we got in the same isle as some serious coupon ladies!!  Sadly, they didn’t read the CVS coupon policy, and loaded up their carts with all the toothbrushes thinking they’d get all the rewards at the cash register. (this of course, left no toothbrush for me!) Oh well, We still left with some terrific deals!  We paid $24.00 dollars total, and came out with a Gillete Pro Razor for the hubby, 1 bottle of bath soap, 2 battery operated toothbrushes, 2 things of body spray, some floss, contact solution and I’m pretty sure I’m missing something!!  Anyway, (!),  we paid $24.00 and we ended up getting $24.00 back in CVS Rewards for our next trip! So our bag was basically FREE!! Actually, if you think about it, we made money since we used a couple of manufacturing coupons.

Coupon Shopping in Kansas today took us next to Walgreen’s.

Being new at this, I took the lazy way, and printed off a list from a really awesome coupon blog that I like. I guess I didn’t realize that not all states offered the same Walgreen’s Register rewards. We loaded up our basket with what we thought would give us register rewards when we checked out. (I was wrong).  We ended up behind another serious coupon shopper! She had her binder out, and was trying to get her purchase all rung up. Nothing ever goes smoothly it seems, and she was having problems with the cashier getting her coupons to work. (It turned out that she was doing a separate transaction-and had 3 coupons for only 2 items. I guess that doesn’t work).  She was a really nice lady, and I wish I would have gotten her name! I think I would have had fun shopping with her in the future! We had a fun time visiting with her in line, and she taught us a few things about shopping at Walgreens. This is where we learned that Walgreens in Kansas is in a test market.  Even though we didn’t get any register rewards, we still got the “points” they offered.  Of course, we had no idea what points were, so that’s another blog for another day.

Coupon Shopping in Kansas ended early for us today!

Since the hubby had worked all night, and it was a dreary, rainy, foggy day.. we decided to call it a day and go home for lunch.  The rest of my day was spent clipping all those coupons!! Tomorrow… I’ll finish putting my binder together!
